About Valorie Luke

I graduated from La Salle University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration consisting of a major in Marketing and a minor in Accounting. Through my four years at La Salle University I took advantage of different opportunities such as going on an international marketing travel study trip to Germany and France, athletics (La Salle University Women's Rowing), and being an officer for La Salle University's AMA (American Marketing Association) organization. Through education, previous work experience, and internship I have gained remarkable skills. My internship with Delmarva Broadcasting Company gave me an opportunity to take part in events, brainstorming, interacting with listeners, and being on-air with Eagle 97.7 morning show. Through my International Marketing course I learned similarities and differences between German, France and the U.S. concerning different marketing concepts. I want to apply my travel study experiences, and the knowledge I gained from my trip in a marketing position to ultimately benefit a business. From my experience as a Substitute Teacher and a Long-term Business Substitute Teacher teaching Introduction to Business, Accounting I, and Diverse Occupations I have gained numerous skills. I have had to execute lesson plans, presentations, graded assignments, use ESchool, handled disciplinary issues, and stay organized. I was a Fee Collector (Seasonal) at Killens Pond State Park - Water Park, and then after four summers I was promoted to Revenue Supervisor. During both positions I was able to gain a tremendous amount of customer service skills and management skills as a Revenue Supervisor. My experience throughout college, athletics, interning, and work has given me the characteristics of showing professionalism, leadership, flexibility, organization, hard-working, dedication, detail and goal oriented, and accountability.
