About Van Ballantyne

Van began his career in accounting and finance in 1980 and has worked as an Accountant, Financial Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and Vice President Finance for small and mid-size businesses in the greater seacoast area. He earned his BS degree in Business Administration from the Whittemore School of Business & Economics and earned his MBA in 1992. He is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and holds the ATP designation (Accredited Tax Preparer) from the National Association of Accountants. In addition to managing his business activities, Van has been active member of the local Chamber of Commerce and has served as Chairman of the Board, Ambassador Chair, Treasurer and Executive Committee member. He has mentored business students at the University of New Hampshire and has been a guest lecturer at the local high school, the national FastTrac program, Citizens Bank Small Business Series and the BUZGate organization. He has served on several committees and mentors new members of his trade association Professional Association of Small Business Accountants (PASBA). Counting House was recognized as Business of the Year by the Chamber in the business services category and his company regularly receives the United Way’s Presidential Award for continued campaign support.
