About Van Duijvenbode

I am a Dutch and European patent attorney with 18 years of experience in private patent practice. I am a managing partner at NLO, working in an enthusiastic team of junior and senior patent attorneys passionately helping our clients use IP to their advantage, maintaining their competitive edge. Originally I had a background in physical, colloidal and polymer chemistry, but over the years I have learned to listen to inventors and appreciate their contributions also outside those areas. I help our clients when protecting their business whether it concerns small molecules, polymer chemistry, nutrition, health-care, pharmaceuticals, green energy or catalysis, and much, much more. While my daily activities involve the full spectrum of patent activities, I am specialized in freedom-to-operate work, oppositions and appeal. Over the last 12 years I have been involved in about 200 hearings at the EPO, and I thoroughly enjoy defending the opponent's or patentee's case in hearings before the Opposition Division and the Boards of Appeal at the European Patent Office.
