About Van Nguyen

Knowledge is eternal. What I learned today; it will help me tomorrow.” That is my philosophy. A piece of Knowledge or an opportunity to learn comes across; I will take it. I believe some point on my path; it will fulfill my journey. I am a first-generation college student in my family. I am grateful to have my dad’s support in my education. He tells me, “Everything will go away, but knowledge will remain in you forever.”- I grew up in a business family. At a very young age, I was exposed to our business's daily transactions and enjoyed helping my parents and customers. I graduated in Vietnam with a B.S. degree in Business Management. I worked for the Vietnamese Commercial Bank for 2 years before moving to America. I have been living in Dallas for 5 years- Starting over in the mid-20s was a whole new challenge, but I took it with all my best, and with a positive attitude. I helped to build up my family beauty salon business and became a Partner-Manager within 3 years. I got to enrich my business communication skills and enhance my client management skills- I soon realized that I wanted to learn more about the big business world and manage major finances and accounts. In 2018, I decided to enroll in the Dallas Community college and worked towards enrolling in The University of Texas at Dallas in Spring 2020. I am currently a junior accounting student- I love meeting new people, helping the community. I had a chance to volunteer for the Dallas community tax, where I helped low-income and senior citizen people to file their taxes. This experience helped me apply my knowledge to help them, and seeing them happy made me happy-I plan to obtain my Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and M.S. in Accounting upon graduating in 2023. My goal is to pursue a career in public accounting, most likely in auditing.
