About Vance Bauer

As VP of Research, I promote and facilitate leading-edge research, including collaborative and interdisciplinary research, in areas related to the goals of OCHIN and OCHIN’s member health care systems. Since joining OCHIN in 2011, I have helped create the nation’s foremost community laboratory for health outcomes, policy, and primary care research with vulnerable and underserved populations. I also served as the Project Director for the OCHIN-led ADVANCE Clinical Data Research Network (CDRN) funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, one of only 9 funded in the nation. I have over 25 years of experience managing complex research networks and projects and directing research teams. Prior to joining OCHIN, I worked at Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research (CHR) for over 10 years, playing a pivotal role in establishing OCHIN’s Practice Based Research Network and supporting the creation of research infrastructure at OCHIN. Prior to joining CHR, held a senior research associate position in the Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University. Obtained a Masters of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Reed College.
