About Vanessa Blank
I was born in Germany and grew up there for half of my childhood. My family and I relocated to the United States in 2012 and have lived here ever since. Some of my hobbies include: travel, cooking, and the outdoors. We have traveled all along the East Coast of the United States and I've been to 6 countries in Europe. Currently, I am a Student Manager at Sanford Commons. My job is to manage and train students working at this dining facility and make sure that everyone is working to their best ability. I quite enjoy this job, I really like working with food and with all of the different personalities of customers that come through. I also love my coworkers, learning all of their life stories and what brought them, or kept them in Boone, NC is interesting to hear. My Bachelor's Degree is in Commercial Photography at Appalachian State University. Being hands-on and getting to know the people and the environment around me through my pictures is something one can't beat and is why I'mpersuing this career.
