Books have always been a passion with me. There is so much to learn from the written word. It involves so much more than reading. You must also distill and analyIse it into various elements that can be easily comprehended by someone who hasn't read the whole book. Please consider whether I can apply these skills in a way that would be mutually beneficial. Over my years as a sales associate, I have developed my own theory about sales. Sales is not about profit but about passion. You cannot sell a product unless you have a passion for your product. Another element is that of creating relationships which build a certain degree of trust, warmth and sincerity. If you are too aggressive, you will repell others. Nobody wants a greasy car salesman with a phoney smile. Once you have built that trust, people are open to you. This will allow you to share your knowledge of the product. They will then decide to purchase it or not. You can't force someone to buy a product. However, you can influence their decision through your passion. Your enthusiasm begets their enthusiasm and will increase the chances of a sale. I have seen these results through my own interaction with customers. They have often commented positively on both my knowledge of books and my approach to sales. They appreciate the fact that I am not simply giving them a "sales pitch" but information and enthusiasm. One thing that I will miss the most are the relationships that I have personally created throughout the years. It feels so wonderful when they return for another recommendation or just to say hello. If that seems like a sensible theory to you, maybe we can work together to bring joy to others rather than simply put money in the coffers.
