Background
About Vanessa Limbert
Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in biomedical sciences (microbiology and immunology department) at Tulane University. I am a 4th year candidate in the James McLachlan lab. My thesis work revolves around STI research, specifically Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, and co-infection with the two. I am working towards creating a vaccine with combination adjuvants that can be given parenterally and protect the mucosal tissues from infection. Additionally, I am looking to understand the mechanisms behind increased Gonorrhea growth during co-infection with Chlamydia. When my PhD is completed, I hope to move into the pharmaceutical industry. My end term goal is to manage clinical trials, and work towards better therapeutics and vaccines for the world.
