About Vanessa Wright

A nursing leader across health systems and with a unique skill set to identify and support system linkages to improve population health. With over twenty years experience as a clinician, researcher and educator in immigrant and refugee health, I carry a deep understanding of the intersection between health and social services to leverage and advance integrated care pathways. As a nursing leader and advocate, I work to advance nursing research in organizational settings and support professional practice through coordinated medical outreach and education on local and global scales. Innately curious, driven to advance learning health systems. My strengths and passion lie in clinical/community engagement, implementation science, knowledge translation, quality improvement, research, facilitation, and education. I am a white settler. My family has lived on the territory of the Huron-Wendat, Petun, Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit for more than 80 years. My research interests include: • Organizational learning in health care environments; • Nurses' role within learning health systems; • The role of those with lived experience in health system redesign; • Evaluation of community engagement to advance integrated care; • Measuring and improving access to health care for immigrants and refugees; • Equity in health and health care; • Health communication and storytelling
