About Varun Arora

I obtained Ph.D. in Chemistry working on nanoparticles for drug delivery and Imaging. After my Ph.D, I joined the Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering at IIT Delhi and worked on textile finishes, modification of commercial plastic for antimicrobial applications, biocompatible substrates for wound healing, and biocompatible dressing for hypospadias repair. Then I shifted to the School of Biological Sciences at IIT Delhi and I am working on different cell culture models and signal transduction. I have experience in the synthesis and characterization of both organic and inorganic nanoparticles. I am well-versed in characterization techniques like FTIR, DSC, TGA, SEM, TEM, ICP, NMR and cell culture, molecular biological techniques including western blotting, agarose gel electrophoresis, etc. I have also extensive knowledge and experience working on antimicrobial culture techniques. My work has resulted in the filing of two patents on antimicrobial surface coating and finishes for moisture management. My strengths are my analytical abilities and my knowledge and experience in biology, chemistry, and nanotechnology. I also have experience in technical writing and poetry, I have published several articles on blogs and a self-published poetry book. I am interested in developing advanced materials and supporting the "Make in India" initiative by the Government of India. I aspire to explore the role of chemistry, nanotechnology, and biology in the fields of Material sciences, polymers, textiles, skincare, food, and healthcare materials. I am open to improving my skills and learning new skills.
