About Vasudevan Ramaswami

I have over 35 years of experience in financial services spanning organizations like Citibank N.A, Bank of America, American Express Bank, Principal Asset management company, TCS, Countrywide Financial Corporation, Reliance Retail ltd, L&T Finance and Muthoot Fincorp Ltd. My experience has taken me through Consumer Banking, BPO management, embedded financial services in a large retail organization, NBFC and a housing finance company. In this journey, I have managed Sales and Business development, Marketing, Operations and Technology, Credit Risk and Collections, Project and Transition management as well as overall businesses as the P&L leader in a general management capacity. I have successfully led start up roles and businesses in many of the above assignments, created a business strategy, built the overall organization, managed large teams (over employees) to deliver agreed operating and business outcomes. I have also spearheaded several re-engineering initiatives, business transition /integration initiatives and organizational changes over this period in senior management roles. As a part of my overall work experience, I have had the opportunity of speaking at various external forums, have actively participated in Print and television media and have travelled overseas covering countries like USA,UK, Australia, Egypt, Hongkong, Singapore, Thailand, Switzerland, Germany and Holland. In my stint with L&T Finance I first headed the Group Operations and Technology function for L&T Financial services and was instrumental in consolidating the overall Operations across all business lines of L&T financial services.( Aug,2010 to September, 2012) From October 2012, I was appointed as the Chief Executive of L&T Housing Finance after we acquired a small housing finance company and have successfully driven the growth of the business assets from Rs 160 crores to over Rs 7300 crores by FY 2016. From April 2017, I joined Muthoot Fincorp Ltd as the Chief Operating officer and served till March 2020 after which I took the role of Strategic advisor to the company from April 1st, 2020 and also joined the board of Muthoot Housing Finance Ltd as Director from April 1st,2021. Having concluded both the advisory and Director assignments with the MPG group, I have setup a management consultancy firm -Verts Management Consulting LLP with 4 other partners from March 2023.
