About Vaughan Parsons

Key Achievements: 1. Operational management with respect to the planning and implementation of health research projects across the National Health Service (UK). Developed the first ‘Employee Wellbeing and Resilience’ workplan for a large state-wide emergency health service which were aligned to the government health and suicide prevention policies and strategies. These initiatives were embedded into core organisational practice and, in collaboration with other healthy workplace initiatives across the organisation, culminated in a significant reduction in workers compensation claims since their implementation. Additionally, these initiatives were awarded the prestigious national Australian Human Resource Institute 2013 ‘Workplace Diversity Award for Excellence in Innovation’ and also the ‘Martin Seligman Award’ for outstanding programs for promoting and enhancing cultural change and employee health and wellbeing. Member of two senior inter-agency government mental health and suicide prevention committees (NSW Suicide Prevention Ministerial Advisory Committee which reported directly to the Ministry of Mental Health and the NSW Inter-departmental Committee for Mental Health) and member of executive-level Wellbeing Resilience Advisory Panel (WRAP) at NSW Ambulance. An experienced medical writer e.g. journal articles, clinical practice guidelines, health promotion material, web content and intergovernmental correspondence. Participated in an (NSW Health) Executive Development Program aimed at developing leadership and management skills and capabilities among middle and senior managers in the public health sector. Currently completing the Rosalind Franklin programme (NHS Leadership Academy)
