About Veit Haug

Veit Haug graduated in media and computer science and was recipient of a research scholarship for the Institute of International Media Communication in San Francisco. After developing interactive learning and sports software, working in Munich and San Francisco, he coordinated the first online platform and audio streaming services of the German public broadcasting and television network (SWR/ARD) including the first idea of setting up the “ARD Mediathek”. Since 1996 he has worked as director of the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation (WRS), responsible for digital economy, international affairs, innovation policy and creative industries. He completed multiple projects in the private and public sector on regional, national, and international levels, focusing on sustainability, mobility, digitalization and creative industries. Among others, he was the initiator of the F-Cell Award, the F-Cell Conference, the "Raumwelten"- platform for spatial communication and the New Mobility Design Conference Series (NEMO). Veit Haug was engaged with European initiatives such as Innovating Regions in Europe (IRE), the European Regions for Research and Innovation (ERRIN) and Pro Inno Europe. He served as an expert for European regions like Barcelona, for the European Commission, for example as a member of the advisory board for the European Regional Innovation Monitor and for the German Government e.g. as a member of the Asia Delegation. He lectured media technology and management at the University of Tübingen and was the initiator and manager of the Business Angels Region Stuttgart (BARS). In addition to roles in many different events and projects, Veit Haug is co-organizer and curator of the conference Raumwelten in Ludwigsburg and co-initiator of the International Building Exhibition IBA’27.
