About Venugopal Thota

Dr. Venu is currently Managing Director of a Welding & Hardfacing company operating in several countries, prominent metallurgist and business strategist. He has turned around the business to profits and spear-headed to continuous growth. As a metallurgist and scientist, he developed several flux and metal cored welding consumables for hardfacing and cladding applications. He is an Alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Monash University and National University Singapore. Dr. Venu is passioned about technology, people and culture. He believes that technology transforms the world; people and hearts are the key for this transformation. He is passioned about continuous learning and keep learning new aspects each and every day. His career was started as a machine operator and it is his passion for learning brought him to his current position. He is trusted and responsible to the shareholders of the business to generate profits and equally responsible to his colleagues, whose wellbeing are connected to the wellbeing of business. He is also passioned about teaching and coaching of next generations. As a scientist and researcher, he published several articles in reputed journals, books and conferences. An article in Acta Materialia and a book chapter in Encyclopaedia of Nano Science and Nano Technology are great honour. Today, Dr. Venu is with Innovation Management, Re-Manufacturing, Operations Management, Lean Manufacturing, Peoples Management, Business Strategy and Business Transformation.
