About Vera Paulin

Currently working as Coordinator, Events and Administration in the Corporate Events Team at Federation University, Ballarat. My previous roles were Executive Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor and President and before that Executive Support Officer to the Dean and Leadership Team at the School of Arts, both at Federation University, Ballarat. Before that I was Executive Assistant to the CEO of RMIT Training. Prior to that I worked at RMIT University in Melbourne as Executive Assistant to the Vice-President Strategy and Governance. Before moving permanently to Melbourne, I worked for the German Foreign Office for a number of years and was posted to Yaounde (Cameroon), Gaborone (Botswana), Edinburgh (Scotland), Pretoria (South Africa), Ottawa (Canada), Melbourne (Australia), Jakarta (Indonesia) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). I was also sent on several short-term postings (3-6 weeks or 6 months) in Cape Town, Baku (Azerbaijan), Asmara (Eritrea), Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei Darussalam) and Phnom Penh (Cambodia). On all these postings I worked either in the Administration Section or in the Ambassador's office. This included keeping his schedule, arranging functions and business trips etc. My short-term postings (to Baku (Azerbaijan), Asmara (Eritrea) and Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei Darussalam) were to assist with the preparation of high-ranking visits of the Federal President, Federal Chancellor Federal Foreign Minister. This involved in-depth knowledge of protocol regulations and procedures. Furthermore I set up and maintained the bilingual website of the Consulate General in Melbourne (English and German). In Jakarta I re-established the English website of the Embassy and in Ouagadougou I set up and maintained the Embassy's website in German and French.
