About Vera Ros
I am a biologist, interested in host-parasite interactions, currently focussing on baculoviruses infecting insect hosts. These viruses can be used as biocontrol-agents and as gene expression vectors. Also, these viruses induce behavioral changes in their host, and we are trying to elucidate the mechanisms behind these changes. I have a broad interest in evolutionary aspects of host-parasite and other symbiotic interactions, and earlier research included interactions among insects, ticks, mites, bacteria and fungi. I work on the interface of different research areas, combining ecology and evolution with molecular studies, genetics and genomics.
