About Vera Wilkinson

I invite all dog lovers to connect with me and welcome media contact on all matters dog. Szap, my heart dog, arrived in 1995 and lead me to my life's work. Hawk, my deaf dog, is with me now. Nothing is more important to me than helping people and dogs connect on a deep soul level. Since 1996, I've worked with over dogs in group classes, private lessons, behavior consultations and seminars throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Education is a central theme in my work. My Credentials include: Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and memberships in the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, Certification Council For Professional Dog Trainers, International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and Family Paws Parent Education. I served as the Chair of the Dog Division of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants 2008-2011 and received the 2009 Dog Division Member of the Year Award. My Media Credits include: Two WGBH Children's TV shows: Fetch with Ruff Ruffman in 2007 and Arthur in 2012 and sitting in studio taking callers dog and cat behavior questions on CBS NEWSRADIO 1030AM's Nightside with Dan Rea in 2010 and 2011. Local Awards include: Best Dog Trainer in the Boston Magazine's Best of Boston 2011 and several years running in the top five of the annual Boston A-List. Now in my third decade of deriving all of my income from my work with people on behalf of their dogs, I'm giving much of my attention to teaching and mentoring aspiring dog trainers and dog behavior consultants.
