About Verna Barrientos

I graduated from San Jose State University with my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, and I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have achieved two of my career goals. And I am looking forward to what is next. I have deeply enjoyed the process of learning and growing in my social work career. One of the things I love about social work is that it is a field where I will continue to learn and grow. I had the opportunity to spend the summer of 2018 traveling all throughout Mexico. This experience helped me to improve my Spanish, and it also showed me firsthand the strength, resilience, and rich heritage of this beautiful culture. Specialties: I work well with a team, as well as on my own. I am punctual. I am professional. I take my career very seriously, and I also like to have fun with what I am doing. I have a positive attitude, and I love to laugh. The things I am passionate about include: mental health and wellness, suicide prevention, ending stigma, having open and honest conversations, volunteerism, the arts, animals, education, photography, and the environment.
