About Vernon Foo

I have spent a great deal of my professional life in a range of sectors, from Marketing and Events, Insurance, Reinsurance & Underwriting, Insurance Broking, Trading and Distribution, Sustainable Packaging, Sustainable Programmes and Training, Courier and Logistics, Copywriting, Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging and the EV Lifestyle, and now Renewable Energy, specifically Solar EPC, Developer and Solar Component Distribution. During my journey, I have been in roles as both a corporate leader and also entrepreneur based out of Malaysia, as well as having spent time professionally in Australia, the Philippines, India and Poland. This includes time spent with business networking platforms such as Business Networks International (BNI), and national-level industry associations such as Small and Medium Enterprises Association (SAMENTA) and Malaysian Association of Sustainable Supply Chain and Innovation (MASSCI), having held key leadership roles throughout all attachments, engaging with peers from industry, academia and government alike. In the short duration of just under a year, I have grown to appreciate the renewable energy space as I find it fascinating to be involved in key pillars of development. During my time in solar, I have come to realise that for communities and land to grow sustainably and economically, they require key ingredients: Energy and Water - Just like how plants need sunshine and rain to grow. My areas of interest include renewable energy (RE), ESG, circular economy (CE), sustainable tech, EV charging, green mobility, sustainable food packaging, sustainable agriculture, food security and production. My current focus is on RE. I'm looking for opportunities that will allow me to contribute to enabling long-term RE advancements for the benefit of all key stakeholders, from teams and organisations that come together to finance, plan and build RE projects to the communities that will come to rely on these power sources to further develop a better life for the next generation.
