About Veronica Barragan

With 25 years of experience in the medical field, my journey began with a medical assistant certificate from Santa Rosa Community Health. My diverse roles within SRCH have helped me discover my true calling in healthcare, particularly in serving vulnerable populations. This has been deeply fulfilling, allowing me to address social determinants, connect clients with resources, advocate for their needs, and provide health education and coaching.My expertise includes motivational interviewing, client-centered counseling, risk reduction, and developing realistic health goals. My previous positions include HIV testing counselor, family planning health educator, and care coordinator. Notably, I thrived as a clinical care coordinator/community health worker at SRCH Dutton Campus, where I contributed to significant improvements in clients' health outcomes, including better glucose levels, blood pressure, and weight management. I also played a key role in developing educational materials and training structures for new hires, supporting them to effectively serve our clients.As the Community Health Worker Program Supervisor, I am passionate about mentoring and empowering others. I am dedicated to sharing knowledge, training new team members, and advocating for the most vulnerable populations.
