About Veronica Calderon

My name is Veronica Calderon and I am married with three beautiful children (8, 6, and 3 years old), and working full time. I recently received my BS in Accounting which is my proudest accomplishment as I am the first in my family to get a degree and I did it working full time and being a full time wife and Mommy. Throughout the last few years I have been the go-to person for getting projects started and handed off to other employees. It has been my job to learn about the project in hand, all the ins and outs, train another individual and handing it off to begin the next project or learning opportunity. My journey began with providing the oversight to the Food Service Department where I discovered that the program was not financially stable. It was my job to learn about food service and come up with strategies to make both school programs financially sustainable. After 4 years, we have made the programs successful by ending this last school year in the black, meaning we did not go into the negative this year by overspending. I have sought out new/additional funding for our charter school organization and will continue to do so. Over the past 2 years alone I have been able to help generate over in additional revenue in addition to about 1.1 million in Average Daily Attendance funding through enrollment for our charter schools. My goals are to continue learning about school finance, gain supervisory experience, become a successful Fiscal Analyst, and ultimately thrive as an innovative Chief Business Official helping schools meet there goals and be fiscally sound.
