About Veronica McCann

As an Emergency Veterinarian at Colorado Animal Specialty and Emergency (CASE), I am dedicated to providing high-quality care to critically ill or injured small animals in a high-volume center. Following graduation from UGA, I pursued a small animal rotating internship at CASE, which exposed me to a wide range of cases and advanced therapies, including minimally invasive surgery, dialysis and hemoperfusion, high flow nasal oxygen, and radiation oncology. This experience allowed me to hone my clinical skills and expand my knowledge in the field. Beyond my clinical work, I am deeply passionate about animal welfare. I volunteer with the Street Dog Coalition, where we provide free veterinary care to homeless and low-income pet owners, making a positive impact on both animals and their owners in need. My areas of interest within veterinary medicine include feline medicine, trauma medicine, and managing endocrine disorders. I am committed to advancing these areas of study and continually improving the lives of animals and their human companions. As I am consistently working to improve my skillset in the veterinary field, I have become certified in Fear Free medicine for small animals and birds, Recover CPR BLS/ALS certified, and Global FAST Ultrasound certified.
