About Veronica Rivera

Professional bio: Veronica(she/her, they/them) is a bicultural, queer Latinx therapist who dedicates herself to healing and wellness. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health at Adler University, Chicago Il. Veronica is also a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and national board-certified counselor (NBCC). She takes an intersectional approach to mental health and centers on BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals to help reclaim their cultural identity and right to emotional wellness. Veronica provides a safe and affirming environment to individuals who are healing from past experiences dealing with life changes, social stressors, and coping with anxiety, depression, and physical/emotional trauma. As part of her healing practice, Veronica is also a licensed massage therapist and reiki practitioner. This background has solidified her beliefs in the importance of becoming present in the body and moving through emotions. Veronica utilizes therapeutic modalities such as psychodynamic, CBT, and DBT. She implements mindfulness and somatic-based therapy methods and sees these strategies as a key piece to one’s healing journey.
