About Veronica Rooks

Veronica Rooks is the Social Services Program Manager for Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Ms. Rooks has served in that role for five years. She initially started with the agency as Behavioral Health Assistant in 2011 and was promoted to Behavioral Health Assistant Lead in 2017. Ms. Rooks has made significant progress in creating organization wide templates for Community Integration and Partnership Development. She has most recently launched an initiative for Parent/Caregiver education that includes topics such as healthcare, service coordination, and estate planning for individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Ms. Rooks was part of the 2017 Corrective Action Committee. This initiative ultimately led to Fulton County Training Centers becoming a top 5% Service Provider in Georgia. She is also a 2018 recipient of the Customer Service FOCUS Award. Veronica has successfully completed the Certified Public Management Program at UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of West Georgia in Sociology and Spanish. Veronica also received an honor of Exceptional Discipline Specific Writing by exceeding the number of required courses. She also completed a Study Abroad Program at Intercultura in Heredia, Costa Rica in May 2010. Ms. Rooks is also a Board Member of Living REAL Non-Profit Organization based in Suwanee, Georgia and Nigeria. She is also the Director of the local His Kids REAL Empowerment Program, which provides resources to students in the Metro Atlanta area. Ms. Rooks attends and serves at Victory Church Midtown. Veronica has a passion for travel and international missions. She has most recently been to Cuernavaca, Mexico to assist a school with their Special Needs Program.
