About Veronica Singh
I am a PhD Candidate at SUNY Upstate Medical University in the laboratory of Dr. David Auerbach and am currently exploring opportunities to gain experience in patent prosecution, technology transfer, and IP analysis, and welcome connections with professionals in these areas. My current work focuses on determining the multi-system cascade surrounding seizures and sudden death in epilepsy. Our lab generated and recently published a rabbit model of Long QT Syndrome Type 2 and Kcnh2-mediated epilepsy which will help determine the impact of Kcnh2 loss-of-function mutations on neuronal, cardiac, respiratory and autonomic functions and future pathological markers for lethal seizures. Through this work, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the value of protecting and translating scientific innovation. I'm interested in pursuing a career in patent law, where I can leverage my scientific training to support intellectual property development in biomedical and life sciences. I am particularly interested in the intersection of neuroscience, genetics, and cardiovascular research with technology commercialization and legal strategy.
