About Veteran Bryan Menchen

From 2013 to present I been a supervisor of two large recruiting stations in Ohio and Texas, I train my teams on high school presentations, lunchroom visits and how to be successful resources for school counselors and communities. Recruiter’s have to adjust our schedules around schools and parents and deal with conflict on a daily basis to be successful communication needed to be clear on what the Navy does and describing opportunities and benefits available for qualified applicants. From 2014 April to September 2016 was Command Career counselor for Navy Recruiting District Ohio, I managed over 600 sailors careers leading to Navy Recruiting District Ohio receiving retention excellence award which consisted of series of task including counseling, reenlistments, retirements, bonuses and required reports meeting 100% requirements. I can speak Spanish and have volunteered at Mabank high school as a substitute teacher. I really love mentoring sailors and helping qualify new sailors. Seeing a young man or woman come back change as a sailor in uniform or calling me up and saying thank you reminds me that I have made a difference in someone’s life and my reward is that I get to carry that with me in my life.
