About Vic Hardy

As a former apprentice, current sheet metal journeyman and now a multi-skill mechanic, I have worked in all facets of the trade, from design to fabrication to installation. From the smallest residential job to some of the biggest manufacturing plants like General Motors, Ford, General Mills, NutraSweet, Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation and now R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, I've been involved in designing, fabricating and installing various sheet metal projects. These include not only HVAC but architectural projects such as storefronts, handrails, decorative trim, and custom one of a kind design and build jobs, and industrial projects such as dust collector systems, conveyors, vacuum systems, and machine guarding. I am also familiar with various welding processes of ferrous and non ferrous metals, including TIG, MIG and SMAW. Since I have been a maintenance mechanic in the tobacco industry, I have gained further knowledge in various maintenance applications such as SAP maintenance planning, AIC file editing, machine shop, pipe fitting, basic electrical troubleshooting, and millwright to augment my sheet metal skills. I am also involved in the implementation and utilization of the IWS Autonomous Maintenance Pillar.
