About Vic Mazzone

I am a self-motivated individual who has a strong commitment to achievement. I have demonstrated this over 40 years working for many service organisations and have excelled in customer service roles and building collaborative partnerships, many which are still current today. I commenced my career in November 1983 working for Trans Australia Airlines (TAA) and held various customer service positions over an eleven-year period. During that time TAA was rebranded to Australian Airlines and eventually merged with Qantas. My last position with the Airline was Qantas Club Manager at Melbourne Airport. Since leaving the Airline in 1995, I have had a very successful and fulfilling career working for various service and government organisations including the last 23 years working in leadership roles with the Australian Public Service (APS) as a Manager and Director. My time in the APS has been divided between the Australian Customs Service and the Australian Taxation Office. In my current role with the ATO as Director External Engagement, Education and Support I lead a team that provides education and support programs for those new to the tax and superannuation (super) systems such as youth, students and those new to Australia. I also collaborate with teachers, students, and curriculum authorities to have tax and super taught in schools. As most, if not everyone needs to engage with both the tax and super systems, my role is to support schools to teach these important subjects, so students are job ready and confident to engage with both systems as they prepare for life after school. I am responsible for the end-to-end strategy which includes project management and program implementation. I also have the great pleasure of working as an Event Supervisor at the greatest sporting stadium in the world, the MCG.
