About Vicki Mitchell

I am currently working at Local 616 bartending, while working part time hours bartending and serving at local events {weddings, Food & Wine Festival, Southeastern Wildlife Expo “SEWE”, concerts, etc.}. I would love to pursue my career interests in photography, retail inventory, and merchandising to possibly become a stylist or merchandiser. I am also relearning Japanese and working for myself selling merchandise on DePop. I would love to share my 25+ years of education, fundraising, small event coordinating, and expertise to the fashion {inventory and marketing}, photography, food & beverage/hospitality industries with a company that shares the same aspirations, interests, and sense of community, as well as social and environmental responsibilities as me. They should also offer opportunities for their employees to engage in continuous education about the company and its’ procedures so that they are also allowed the opportunity for upward growth and promotions if they so desire. I still enjoy bartending, event coordinating, and fundraising, so if you are ever in need of an extra set of hands or ideas, I am at your disposal. I recognize that people are both different and talented in their own right, and we all have areas that we can improve on given the opportunity. The job of a leader is to figure out how to give an individual the confidence to face them, and turn it into an asset for that person. That is why I have always enjoyed being a doer, even when I am a leader. Real successful leaders are not “above” or afraid to complete any task, whether it be cleaning up vomit or handling an aggressive customer. Leaders set the standard so when they’re not present they can trust their team to complete the job properly. By continuing as a doer, I demonstrate that it’s possible to maintain high standards while still enjoying the day, and others see that I am still humble and enjoy working with them everyday. I do recognize the fact that there are several ways to do any one task and my idea may not give the most efficient or best results. Which is why having that passion to work alongside others daily allows me to see and hear their thoughts, concerns, perspectives, etc. on matters. Collaboration is definitely one of the keys to having a successful team. I have gained an incredible amount of knowledge in all the fields I have worked in throughout my life, but I feel like these are just the beginnings of my capabilities because I still want more.
