About Vicki Watson

How does a biology major become a digital marketing specialist? Good question! I started in college with a biology/nursing major, but after a few years, I felt the desire to join the US Navy. I served our country for almost 7 years as a hospital corpsman and advanced laboratory technician. What I loved the most about working in the lab was watching the data, seeing the numbers change with various diseases and conditions. The Navy gave me the opportunity to advance my leadership skills and also to know I can get the job done, no matter what. I held various part-time jobs after the Navy while raising my kids to stay home with them as much as possible, but I realized I actually enjoy accomplishing tasks at work. I completed more coursework at college for medical transcription and medical front office, which gave me a peek into how a virtual job functions. I have steadily increased my work availability over the years, as the kids got older, to ensure I give my best to my employer. My desire to work full-time has been slowly realized due to raising these crazy kids, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Where else can I improve my 'people management' skills and sharpen my organizational abilities while planning the schedules of 7 people and manage to keep it all running smoothly - from my minivan? I have skills, indeed! Currently I work as a Campaign Technician at Social Sparrow Digital Marketing. I love working at Social Sparrow, the people are great and the work is exciting! I never thought I'd enjoy marketing, especially not digital marketing, but here I am, killing it!
