About Vicki Weldon

I would describe myself as a highly motivated individual who is keen to learn new skills to help me in my future prospects. I have such a passion for learning and I find it fascinating to discover new things as well as perfect the skills I currently have. I am a team player but I can also work very well on my own. My time in college has rewarded me with many different skills and talents that I can apply to any industry. I have a Second Class Honours, Upper Division in Bio-molecular Science, awarded by Dublin Institute of Technology, as well as a Merit Upper Division in Biosciences, awarded by the same Institute. I have also been awarded a Merit in a Higher National Diploma in Applied Biology by EDEXCEL. My honours degree project was solely based on the process of nucleic acid purification, RT-PCR and data analysis. My ordinary degree and HND award projects were based on cell culture, optimization and aseptic techniques, data analysis, ELISA assays and flow cytometry so I feel I have relevant experience in these areas. I work well on a team as well as independently. During my time in college I was the Chairperson of the Biology Society and the vice chairperson for the Camping Society. These positions have given me great skills in leadership, communication, delegation, time management, budget planning and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
