About Vicky Lackey

Learning new technologies, developing software and analyzing problems issues is my passion. Challenges intrigue me! An A.A.S from Texas State Technical College in Computer Programming Technology and an A.A.S. from Tarrant County College in Mathematics with a minor in Physics; has helped me develop skills for solving complex problems, critical thinking, effective communication, inductive reasoning, and deductive reasoning, to name a few. Through planning, designing, developing, testing and deployment I have the capability to development software across the entire development lifecycle. While attending Texas State Technical College, I was often called upon for special projects outside the normal classroom activities. Those projects increased my skills in time management, team work and diligence. I was required to learn and master new skills in a very short period of time. As a member of SkillsUSA, the teacher/sponsor requested I learn 3-D modeling and animation in a period of 6 weeks to enter the Texas State SkillsUSA competition. I worked on a team with one other student, achieving the gold medal at state and moving on to the National Convention. Another time, I was given a project with two other students, to produce a virtual reality simulation for the college that was used as a promotional activity for new recruits. Those are just a few examples that demonstrate the qualities of communication, time management, troubleshooting, diligence, ability to obtain new knowledge, and develop new solutions; that can assist your company in developing new strategies and creating unique solutions within your software development projects. As a former business owner, I know managed business workflow is essential to success and I realize the intricacies of customer service and its value. A successful business requires adaptability, determination, resourcefulness, accountability and creativity. Teaching others requires not only a knowledge of the subject to be taught, but also an understanding of relationships and the needs of the student. Teaching has given me the ability to take complex information and break it down to understandable levels. Teachers must motivate, empathize, organize lessons to the needs of the particular students, and give effective feedback and help on their achievements and needs. It is an opportunity to inspire future generations. Life is complex, and we must all tap into the abilities and talents that we have to achieve our goals and help others.
