About Vicky Lara

Passionate teacher of Spanish for foreigners. Experienced in teaching to adults and teenagers, to literate and illiterate students, in formal and informal education, in university, highschool and NGO. Focused in promoting authonomy and self-learning, giving voice to the students about their learning process, not forgetting that the language is useful if it is a communicative tool (and so practicing as much as we can -individually, in pairs, in small groups, integrating skills), considering mistakes as positive part of the learning process (because it means the student is trying, and because good lessons can be learned from being wrong), disclosing Hispanic reality to the classroom (with videos, films, texts, etc.), promoting creativity to arouse interest and enhance motivation (because it is funnier, it developes self-esteem in students, because it helps develop a good atmosphere and lose fear to the new language, stimulates faster responses when facing new situations), considering how important new technologies are and so taking advantage of them in the school and also at home.
