About Vicky Lay

I am an entrepreneur who is passionate about business and finding creative ways to help people and the planet. Previously I was helping to make education more accessible across Asia-Pac at Zookal. Now I am focused on directing capital, innovation and human endeavor towards positive social and environmental outcomes through my impact investing & ESG thought leadership role at Artesian and women empowerment non-profit, SheSyndicate. I also mentor founders and coach CEOs hacking for humanity and sit on the boards of non-profits fostering youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. Being a relatively young, Asian, female founder turned VC who grew up in the not-so-polished parts of Western Sydney, I am the epitome of what you would call a ‘minority’ among the founder/board member/investor circles and frankly, I’d like to change that. Specifically, I am committed to: 1. Helping more people build companies and lead projects that change the world 2. Developing the youth into the type of world leaders I would follow 3. Increasing the number of women-led startups, boards, and investments 4. Contributing to climate action at scale 5. Facilitating human potential – in all its forms
