I'm currently on an exciting journey as a future Ph.D. student in Computer Engineering through the Cal Bridge Program. My academic pursuits align with my diverse background and experiences. Military Service I proudly served in the United States Army National Guard as a Diesel Engine Mechanic, where I played a crucial role in recovering vehicles throughout North and Southern California. My time with the Infantry Battalion 1/160th instilled discipline, teamwork, and a strong work ethic that I carry with me in my pursuit of academic excellence. Firefighting Experience In addition to my military service, I had the honor of serving as a Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service. My journey led me to become a Hotshot Firefighter stationed in Glendora, California, with the Dalton Hotshots. The challenges I faced in this role, along with the camaraderie and dedication of my team, inspired my mission to improve firefighter safety using cutting-edge technology. ‍ Technology Testing at San Dimas Technology Center ‍ During my tenure at the San Dimas Technology Center in San Dimas, California, I had the opportunity to work closely with engineering staff to test and evaluate emerging technologies. This hands-on experience ignited my passion for innovation and technology, further motivating me to complete my education. My Aspirations My ultimate goal is to make a meaningful impact in the field of firefighting by leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance firefighter safety and improve training methods. Through risk management and exposure mitigation in the field, I aim to contribute to the well-being of those who risk their lives to protect our forests and communities.
