About Vicky MacHa

With 13 years of experience in the development sector, I am a passionate and effective leader who designs and implements integrated, human centered and community-led programs that address the challenges and opportunities of diverse populations in East Africa. I have a Master's degree in Development Policy and Practice and a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Public Relations.Currently, I am the Deputy Chief of Party at Global Communities, where I provide overall leadership, technical and managerial oversight of a 28.5 million USD project that aims to strengthen the school feeding system, improve the education experience, and build technical program models in Tanzania. I have successfully coordinated, mobilized, and engaged with various stakeholders, including donors, partners, private sector, and government, to deliver quality results, on-time reports, and cost containment. I have also improved donor outreach and fundraising strategies, resulting in a 56% increase of the national budget allocated towards maternal health. My core competencies include strategic planning, project management, advocacy, social behavior change communication, and innovation.
