About Victor Faessel

Fifteen years establishing preeminent interdisciplinary programs in global/transnational studies at a top ten U.S. public research institution, building networks of scholars and civil society actors, and facilitating scholar and student mobility across these networks. Leadership at a major hub among these networks as secretary of the Global Studies Consortium, the international association of graduate programs in the field since its founding in 2007. Concurrent and extensive editorial management experience, overseeing major publication projects mapping the field of global studies and, earlier, in the interdisciplinary study of monotheistic traditions in a multilingual research setting. Fifteen years in the University of California system facilitating major philanthropic, foundation, and industrial partner engagements with academic research. Worked directly with donors as well as corporate and foundation programs and program officers to translate and implement mutual long-term strategic goals. Expertise in planning, organizing, and executing programs, from major international academic conferences to workshops, colloquia, and strategy sessions, coordinating with faculty, administrators, and community partners.
