About Victor Tufts

In August 2017, I accepted a leadership role with Sea School, in St. Petersburg, FL. Sea School has since 1977, provides quality maritime training for all mariners from entry-level to Master. My current responsibilities include: a) Maritime Credentialing Services of USCG License application review, proofing and submission of over 100 applications per month to the USCG RECs. b) Quality Standards System oversight for 8-campuses. c) Assisting with maritime training course development for 45-current USCG Approved courses, and ensuring future compliance's. d) Business development. I remain the Vice President of the Maritime Education Standards Council (MESC), and look forward to the Council's progress as we move towards 2018 and beyond. I thoroughly enjoyed my over 11-years working with the professionals at the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) in Linthicum Heights, MD and their Seattle, WA campus Pacific Maritime Institute. MITAGS-PMI.org gave me the opportunity to excel in both personally and professionally including; Implementation and management of three (3) STCW 2010/2014 compliant training and apprentice programs, Instructing STCW Support and Operational Level courses, Excelling in FMBS Ship Simulator Operation for STCW Training, Assessments, Research and Development projects (Global Locations), Developing both primary and secondary school education curriculum's for the SOCP and MERPAC and Baltimore (MD) City Public School System, Military to Merchant Mariner program development and consultation with and for the US Navy and US Coast Guard. As a maritime credential expert and marine training advocate (12 yrs+), I continue to offer merchant marine career guidance to both US and International mariners from entry-level, operational and management level officers, including Pilots.
