About Victor Ukaogo

I have over 10 years print media experience but delved into higher education teaching for over 20 years and counting. Beyond my media exposure and teaching in the university, I have engaged successfully in the broad area of consulting, biographic writing and public speaking. And I have pioneered research efforts in environmental history - a rather unexplored discipline in Nigeria. Globally, we now have considerable interest in matters of the environment especially issues of climate change hitherto taken lightly. They are today at the heart of survival of humankind across the globe. My concern on environmental surveillance and advocacy derives its strength from my commitment towards the eradication of environmental injustice and racism especially in poor states. Again, the curious nexus between the environment and conflict must not be overlooked; and this a major research concern for me. Ecological concern are legion in developing economies but the effort to balance man's exploits on land today and the imperative of not destroying tomorrow remain the central focus of my research forays and consultancy. Thus resource and environmental sustainability are key to my overall endeavors.
