Summary of Qualifications: I have twenty years of facility planning and project management experience in the public education marketplace. My experience on a variety of school renovation and construction project inspired me to develop SPINES*, a school planning protocol that investigates the relationships and interactions among: Space and orientation of the facility Placement of items in that space Integration of classroom and school building features Noise created by the mechanical aspects of the facility but mitigated by acoustical enhancements Environment created by the colors, textures, temperature and lighting, and Security of the building envelope, as well as individual classroom and office spaces Founded in 2003, Designs4Learning, LLC, is a school facility planning, consulting and contracting company that focuses on assisting educators achieve their "EdSpectations" in pursuit of optimal educational facilities. Utilizing the approach that any school facility design can be optimized within the parameters of funding available for the project, Designs4Leaning works as an educational resource with the project architect to develop ideas, research methodologies and propose solutions that meet the educational needs of the project owner.
