About Victoria Akhteebo

Self-motivated, professional, and compassionate individual with almost four years of career counseling and 2 1/2 years of behavioral health experience in private practice, university, community mental health agencies, and long-term care settings. I have experience with working with the adult population ranging from 18 years to 80 years old. have a passion for supporting the success of individuals with mental, physical, emotional, and intellectual impairments. I am respectful and mindful of diverse populations with the ability to work with people of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses. I am trained in EMDR and am now working toward becoming a Certified EMDR therapist. I have experience treating mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, life transitions, relationship problems, suicidality, and occupational stress. I like to use an integrative approach when it comes to providing treatment. I’m interested in pursuing specialization in trauma and attachment-focused EMDR. I often use CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution-Focused, and Motivational Interviewing modalities. However, I approach all clients with Person-Centered interventions to help strengthen therapeutic alliances. It isn’t easy to be vulnerable and express your feelings.
