About Victoria Borgacci

I believe that my education, specialized training and professional experience would make me a good fit for position that will help students/employees that are disabled by the system they are trying to navigate in. Working as a part-time faculty member at York, along with my volunteer work with One Voice Network organizations as an advocate has given me valuable insight into career development, adult education principles and the post- secondary education sector. My years of teaching and educating children with disability have also given me the opportunity to work closely with and mentor a diverse range of students pursuing careers in a variety of different fields. This type of work demanded flexibility and adaptability to support the needs of a changing student body and the ability to adapt to new and changing operational processes, procedures and application tools as York grew and changed to become what it is today. My work with members of different faculties at York, and with the Learning Disabilities Services at York has also allowed me to maintain a highly developed skill set where I could exercise initiatives and collaborate as an effective member of a team to achieve and support unit goals. With previously working with the Loblaw's Great Food Store has provided new and exciting opportunities to further develop strong sales skills including consultative selling skills, relationship building, and value creation for multiple stakeholders. As a member of the this team, I was also able to fine tune interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy and discretion, while also maintaining confidentiality in an environment which demanded excellent attention to detail and being mindful of competing priorities. However, working in a high energy and demanding environment such as this has helped me to cultivate superior time management and organizational skills in order to simultaneously handle conflicting priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines.
