About Victoria MacMillan

I achieved a Pass with Distinction in MSc Molecular Medicine from the University of Leeds following achieving a 2.1 in BSc Biomedical Science from King's College London. The research project I undertook as part of my Masters degree involved using software such as PLINK and Stata to analyse data from UK Biobank to investigate the genetic architecture of melanoma. Following this, I worked as a Laboratory Scientist in the Immunology and Immunotoxicology (I&I) department at Labcorp, carrying out routine Ligand-Based and Cell-Based assays, cell culture, QC checking data, assisting with validation and method development activities and training new members of staff. I was the I&I Substance Safety Champion; I am COSHH trained, as well as SOP author trained. I currently work remotely as an EMEA Regional Study Coordinator for Global Project Management at Labcorp, co-ordinating around 25 studies for various clients. I help ensure the study is running smoothly by performing tasks such as ordering and monitoring kit/sample shipments, submitting user access requests for our portal, ensuring import licenses are in place for shipments to certain countries and ensuring sample testing is performed and reported correctly and on time.
