About Vida Pourmand

I am a PhD student in Psychological Science at the University of California, Irvine, specializing in Health Psychology and Quantitative Statistics. My research focuses on the role of psychological and socio-cultural determinants of health in health disparities, aiming to contribute to public-health focused policy and interventions. I am passionate about promoting health equity, with extensive expertise in psychophysiological, qualitative, quantitative, ecological momentary assessment methods, working with large-scale data using precision medicine, alongside leadership skills demonstrated by managing eight successful data collections, including leading community-based studies. I am also proficient in many software such as Stata, R, and SPSS. In addition to my research, I enjoy collaborating on interdisciplinary projects, mentoring, and engaging in outreach activities to communicate science beyond the lab. My long-term goal is to have a career in which I can use an interdisciplinary framework to conduct rigorous, evidence-based research that influences public health interventions and policy to promote health equity, and I am always open to discussing potential collaborations, industry projects, or opportunities in behavioral-health focused companies.
