Background

About Vidit Parekh

I currently work as a Process Engineer in the Logic Technology Development Group at Intel Corp. I was enrolled in the graduate program in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle. My research work involved designing Lab on a Chip biosensors and fabricating the same with microfabrication techniques such as direct writing and micromachining. By generating interdigited electrode(IDEs) patterns with the help of solvent assisted contact printing and etching, these chips are to be analyzed under the influence of external dielectrophoretic forces on Surface Plasmon Resonance technique. These sensors are designed to work as electrodes which act as semiconductors when external dielectric forces are applied onto them. Computational studies using FTDT and Comsol simulations are to be done for better understanding. Having completed a successful and scholastic Bachelors degree, please find below a short summary of the experiences I underwent: •Process Development Intern in the Process Engineering laboratory assisting scientists and Process Engineers with characterization and analysis of pharmaceutical drugs •Summer outreach program intern working towards nanoparticle synthesis and characterization using synthetic chemistry protocols with its application in site specific drug delivery using the concept of biochemical assays. •Manufacturing Intern in the manufacture of Rubber Conveyor belts in a GMP environment. •B.E. Thesis project: Designing.fabricating and optimizing an agitated working carbonation reactor for alkaline rich mineral waste carbon sequestration with focus on increasing the efficiency. All these experiences involved a perfect combination of a hand on laboratory setting, synthesis and characterization of materials at different production scales along with the relevant data analysis.
