Use, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and test equipment. Use instrumentation equipment to analyze and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, digital, and computer circuits. Analyze and troubleshoot electrical circuits, electronic circuits, control systems. Design and modification of various circuits as per ship specific requirement. Install, test, and configure automation control systems and a variety of programmable logic controls. Install equipment protective devices such as fuses, circuit breakers, sensing current transformers, relays etc. Maintain, test, analyze and install rotating electrical machines and equipment such as motors and generators and their control systems for specified applications. Diagnose electromechanical system problems of Boilers, propulsion systems, Bow thruster systems using appropriate test instrumentation, schematics, and technical reference manuals. Recommend appropriate repair process and initiate repair. Maintain, Repair and replace electrical, electronic, and mechanical components. Operate equipment according to job requirements and specifications. Provide electrical maintenance support for all other engineering machinery, auxiliary equipment associated with the ship. Trouble shooting of various types of defects in starter panels by reading schematics and replacing parts like VFD, magnetic contactors, relays, transformers, circuit breakers etc.
