Vijay is an Insurance Domain expert. He was the founding Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of Navi General Insurance Ltd. He is currently working as a Strategic Advisor to LIMRA. He has completed Consultancy projects at Union Assurance PLC, Sri Lanka, has been a Member (Advisory Board) at Loop Insurance Brokers as also been a Consultant to Turtlemint and AVANSE Financial Services in India. He is open to Consultancy assignments / Advisory & Board Roles. Through his 39+ years of experience, Vijay has been instrumental in shaping several behemoths of the Indian Insurance Industry. His well rounded exposure to a plethora of functions gives him a pan-organization and pan-India coverage to influence through his leadership. In his illustrious career of almost four decades, his key positioning has been that of a strategic business leader. Through organization-wide roles, he has built new businesses, crafted sales and distribution networks, streamlined complex Distribution Training & Development efforts, brought award-winning Marketing & Corporate Communication strategies and affected several defining moments through Product Development, Project Management and Sales Process Re-engineering. In his career span, he has held key leadership positions in LIC, Tata AIA Life Insurance Company, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company, DHFL Housing Finance Company and Navi General Insurance Company. In every organization— he left behind an imprint for creating customer-first legacies, which has been the hallmark for his stature within the insurance and financial services industries. In his last full time Corporate assignment, Vijay was tasked with building one of India’s first pure Insuretech insurer. His eminent career is highlighted by high-risk, high-pay-off black swan projects. He is credited with building the initial Bajaj Allianz brand story— and subsequently elevating their customer experience to world-class standards. He is responsible for re-invigorating the distribution salesforce at Tata AIA Life. At the DHFL Group his mandate was to lay the foundations for expanding the group’s financial services to general insurance. His last full time corporate assignment was to convince the Indian consumer to buy insurance digitally with Navi General Insurance ( formerly known as DHFL General Insurance. Ownership changed from WGC to Navi Technologies Pvt. Ltd. from Feb 2020). Business acumen, an assiduous eye for detail and a vision for what should be—rather than what is, define Vijay’s business career.
