About Vijini Amarasinghe

I am a provisional psychologist currently completing my Master's in Educational and Developmental Psychology, passionate about raising awareness around mental health and advancing current research in psychology. I have had the joy of working in several positions that have allowed me to connect and attend to needs of other people. As a crisis support specialist at Lifeline Australia, I have experienced how challenging yet gratifying it is to sit with someone in their pain and provide them with a safe, non-judgmental space to discuss and process their concerns. As the office manager and clinical assistant at Advance Medical Therapies, I have seen how debilitating chronic pain conditions are and how rewarding it is to be able to provide relief to those that have been suffering physically and mentally for years and months.I aim to continue building onto these valuable skills and experiences and become a professional psychologist that will continue to contribute to mental health research and be a source of support to those that need it.
