Are we on a similar journey? Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile! I’m on a relentless mission to improve patient experience through the elimination of harm through highly reliable implementation of evidence-based and innovative strategy. When it comes to patient experience, our goal must always be TOP DECILE. When it comes to harm, the goal must always be ZERO! Patients count on us to keep them safe – it’s our moral imperative. And yet, priorities frequently compete for resources that are limited or scarce. And, sometimes we see patient experience and quality/safety as separate aspects of care delivery when in fact, they are outcomes of highly reliable care. As leaders, we must remain steadfast beacons for our organizations, shining the light, passion, and resilience needed for our ships to make it to safe harbor amid changing and turbulent seas. I’ve been blessed by an incredibly rich career, where I’ve been able to gain significant expertise as a nurse and quality improvement executive in the areas of cultural transformation, patient experience, leadership excellence, quality, safety, and high reliability. As an executive coach, healthcare consultant, and international speaker, I’ve had the privilege of helping over 100 healthcare organizations improve clinical and operational outcomes, deepen employee and physician activation, and achieve true mission-based cultures of safety, transparency, and accountability. My broader skills are in care transformation, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, risk management, and case/utilization/disease management. I’m a proud and grateful graduate of Intermountain Health Care's international Advanced Training Program for healthcare quality improvement executives, where I was awarded Patient Safety Officer designation. My professional certifications include NEA-BC and CPHQ.
