About Vikki Wilson

With 20 years of experience in fashion retail management, followed by +14 years in senior learning and talent roles, I am a passionate and experienced Talent and Development professional. I have an innate ability to inspire and develop teams, build relationships, and empower others to succeed. I have just completed a FTC/mat cover as a Senior People Partner at Mint Velvet. In this role, my aim was to provide an effective and efficient People Team service. Reporting to the Head of HR, I had 1 direct report. Partnering with the retail director and heads of retail, I helped to shape the retail strategy. I was responsible for finding opportunities to amplify the employee experience, including using my expert knowledge of effective inductions. I implemented cyclic talent calls, to prioritize talent, enhancing the talent management process. Predominantly, at a time of unprecedented challenge I lead the management of all retail ER, supporting advising and ensuring due diligence and compliance at all times. Whilst dealing with issues head on, I also sought 'prevention' by identifying risks and prioritizing and supporting the development of all those involved, directly or indirectly. In this role, I was also involved in the effective implementation of key reward activity, including, payroll, bonus, and pay review activity. As well as promoting and enabling the available EAP's. I supported all areas of our talent management processes, and constantly sought ways to provide data and analytics to enable our population to improve and develop. Now this FTC has concluded, I am ideally seeking to return to a Senior L&D.In my previous roles as Talent & Development Business Partner, I managed a team to design, curate, and implement programs, frameworks, and workshops to support the development of retail and head office teams and leaders. I oversaw the digitalization of resources to increase the availability of engaging content. I worked with HRBPs to identify talent, drive high performance, and succession. I partnered with the Internal Communications team to combine engagement success with learning on an exciting digital platform, creating an inclusive work culture across the entire business. I am skilled in coaching, mentoring, facilitating, presenting, storytelling, and project management. I am always looking for innovative and solution-driven ideas and strategies to improve business efficiencies and outcomes. I am motivated by people-related roles where learning and talent development success is as important to the business as it is to the individual.
